About
Welcome to Eastbourne, the Sun-Trap of the South. The East of the Pier Heritage Trail is a fascinating and free self-guided tour around Eastbourne’s Victorian and Edwardian heritage. This digital trail starts and ends at Eastbourne Pier but you can start wherever you like, with handy directions to the next Waypoint.
When reading about the heritage throughout your trail, you will notice a selection of Waypoints have 'History Corners' - these are on-street and internal story boards that will provide you with even more information on the History of this area and how it would have looked and felt during that time. All areas are wheelchair accessible.
You should expect the entire Trail to take you approximately 2 Hours, depending on how long you choose to stay at one location. Along the way you will find several points of interest on your map, including places to eat, further places to visit, and public toilets.
Each Waypoint that you visit has the option to tick that you have visited it. Why not pause for a Hot Drink half way at the Pavilion Tea Rooms and share your experience with your friends on Facebook?
