Eastbourne Beach Lifeguards
Lifeguards patrol the Wish Tower to Pier beach from May 1 to September 30 and are trained in first aid, rescue methods, life support, spinal management, weather meteorology, boat handling and regularly undergo fitness training.
Visit the lifeguard station for first aid, advice on sea conditions, weather, Kids Wristbands and equipment hire.

Kidzsafe Wristband Scheme

Keep in contact with the kids! Pick up our FREE Kidzsafe wristbands from the Lifeguard Station or Seafront Office.
Kidzsafe wristbands are waterproof and a great way to reunite lost children with parents. Simply write your phone number on the wristband and our lifeguards and seafront staff will contact you if your child becomes lost and cannot find you.

Tyro Lifeguard Courses
The sessions run throughout August at the Lifeguard Station on the Seafront and are a unique opportunity for your child to learn all they need to know about staying safe and having fun by the sea. Sessions are run by our qualified and experienced team and include:
Level 1 Introduction to the beach & sea, local hazards, flags
Level 2 Basic First aid, sea rescues, radio calls, and signals.
Level 3 First aid (including basic life support), paddle board training, open water rescues, introduction to rescue boat and its use.
Level 4 Rescues from boat (This involves going out in the boat), advanced first aid (what to do in case of spinal injuries, open wounds etc.), Tyro legends challenge!
To attend the course your child must be able to swim 100 metres unaided.
