Be Prepared To Be Spooked This October!

Ghostly greetings to this special spook-tober half term round up, talking all things goulish and blood curdling, something to sink your fangs into.
Eastbourne has a whole host of places to go with the whole family for a hair-raising day out, the perfect way to spend your October half term and keep the kids entertained.

First up we have shriek week at Drusillas, from 21st to the 29th October. They’ve conjured up some fang-tastically spooky surprises for your little horrors to enjoy. Trek through the Haunted Heights running from Hocus & Pocus as they play hide and shriek, discover the spooky tales left behind if you’re brave enough! Don’t forget to run from the mummy’s making sure you don’t get trapped in the terror maze, if creepy encounters are more your thing take a trip to the discovery centre meeting and greeting the bugs and slimy crawlies!

Reckon you can take on Newhaven Forts terrifying tunnels of the Eastern Magazine? With spectacularly spooky displays from 21-29 October. Jaw’s n claw’s workshop will be open for one special day only on 29 October, take part in the horrifying quiz trail and visit the mad scientists in their laboratory to join in with their wacky work!

Take part in a twilight tour at the Redoubt Fortress, starting on 21 October maybe you’ll be lucky or spooked to spot a ghostly figure sitting in the corners of one of the eerie rooms! Many have sighted ghosts on previous tours. Enjoy the gruesome tales of battles, unearthed mysterious objects and torch lit tours through the winding corridors and treacherous tunnels of the fort. Booking is essential either at the Tourist Information Centre or at visiteastbourne.co.uk and is suitable for over 13 year olds.

Sharnfold Farm is home to a haunted toy shop from 25-29 October, will you enter its deserted doors and follow the lost toy trail? Who knows what you’ll find on your way! Pumpkin carving is also available for those who want to get creative, with the help of the carving team create your own unique design, taking your spine tingling work of art home to be the envy of all your neighbours!

The Observatory are hosting a Halloween spooktacuar weekend on 28 & 29 October, for two days of devilish fun and games. Including ear piercing screaming bats, spooky pumpkin lanterns, mind blowing dancing bones and creepy colouring.

Return to the Redoubt Fortress on 28 October for free star gazing, watch in awe at the wondrous sky surrounding us. Maybe you’ll catch a glimpse of a shooting star!
Or why not get well and truly spooked by watching The Exorcist (Directors Cut) film screening at the Redoubt Fortress on all hallows eve itself. Be prepared to leave the dark fort into the night, dare you brave it for a thrill?
