The Terry Giles Sextet

The Terry Giles Sextet

Local legends The Terry Giles Sextet make their debut at the Under Ground Theatre.

With tunes like Ain’t Misbehavin’ and Pennies From Heaven, the Terry Giles Sextet has become a firm favourite with audiences along the South Coast.

The sextet, which was formed in 2005, plays a wide range of styles for listening and dancing, from traditional and dixieland jazz through to more mainstream music, with numbers taken from the songbooks of jazz greats such as Fats Waller, Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington.

The sextet was resident Eastbourne’s Cavendish Hotel for ten years and has played for a large number of private functions in recent years, including gigs at Herstmonceux Castle, Cooden Beach Hotel and Shelley’s Hotel in Lewes. In March 2010 they went into the Riverside Record Studios in Shoreham-by- Sea and recorded their debut CD, Jazz at the Cavendish, copies of which will be on offer at tonight’s event.
